Welcome to our Primary School
Headteacher: Mr S Cowdery
Norton St. Nicholas is a thriving school of about 240 children from Nursery to Year 6. In 2013 the school was inspected by Ofsted and deemed to be Good and also under the Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools, on behalf of the Church of England, this deemed Norton St. Nicholas to be Outstanding.
Our school is a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary school set in the heart of our community to provide an education for our children with a Christian perspective. The Bible teaches that honesty, integrity, hard work, faithfulness and strong family life are to be encouraged and taught. Relationships within the school and within the community are characterised by love and truth and show special concern for the weak and disadvantaged. The school and the churches of St. George’s and St. Nicholas work closely together in partnership: the school and Norton parish see themselves in active association – as an extended community – together at the heart of the Church’s mission to the community.
It has been a busy half-term at St. Nicks. We've celebrated Harvest, held Dedication services, taken part in a range of sports events and there's been a lot of great learning too!
This week children have been getting even more creative. Through our Big Curriculum Week children have been baking bread, making Grand Designs, learning about basic first aid, tasting exotic fruit, drumming, acting in kindness, making soup and learning Shakespeare.
